Reading Glasses Niagara Falls

Eyewear Studio, our optical store in Niagara Falls, offers both, bifocal and trifocal glasses which help with presbyopia, a vision condition that affects people around the age of 40. With presbyopia, you will find it necessary to hold books, magazines, menus and most reading materials at arm’s length in order for it to come into focus properly. Bifocal and trifocal lenses allow you to see in the distance as well as up close, with one pair of glasses. With bifocal and trifocal lenses, you look through the top part of your glasses to see into the distance and when you look down through the bifocal and trifocal areas, you can see things that are closer. Bifocals have two prescription powers – one for far away and one for up close. Trifocals have three powers – the two used in a bifocal and a third, used for an intermediate range, usually your arm’s length. Bifocal and trifocal glasses are available at our optical store in Niagara Falls with lines and without. Lined bifocals and trifocals come in different sizes, called segments, and the wider the segment, the larger the reading area.

The lenses that are without lines are known as progressive bifocals, but they are actually more like trifocals. Progressive lenses have a prescription power for nearer vision that gets stronger as it moves down the lens. Where reading is concerned, no-line lenses let you read at numerous different focal points, not just one or two like with lined bifocals and trifocals. The lenses are crafted together in one lens and the sections are divided by a small, yet visible, line. To properly use trifocals, you must adapt to looking through the top section for distance, the middle for intermediate and the bottom for near. The experts at our optical store in Niagara Falls are happy to work with you until you get accustomed to how the trifocal lens works. These multifocal lenses come in many designs, depending on whether you spend hours in front of a computer, play tennis, work on cars, etc. The progressive lens does everything a bifocal or trifocal does but without the lines.

Progressive lenses are actually considered multifocal lenses that create a progression of lens power. The process with progressive lenses is smooth because there is no visible line and is compared to natural eyesight. All progressive lenses are not the same, however, and differ in price, depending on brand, size and function. At our optical store in Niagara Falls, we make your progressive lenses fit precisely as it helps a great deal with the adjustment process.
